Rio thanks electorate for giving him massive mandate

Chief Minister and now Member of Lok Sabha-elect Neiphiu Rio is grateful to the people of Nagaland for reposing their faith on him and giving him massive mandate to represent the people of Nagaland in the Parliament.
“My victory is a victory of the people of Nagaland, a victory of the Naga People’s Front and the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland and the victory of regionalism and regional identity,” the chief minister stated in a release after his victory.
Rio said he would be demitting office shortly and thanked the people of the State, all rank and file of NPF and members of the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland for their ‘unstinted support’ to him and the ministry for the past eleven years.
“I also thank the tribal hohos, the churches, the NGOs and civil societies of Nagaland for their support and cooperation during all these years. I particularly thank the people of the state and all the citizens who have shown and extended tremendous amount of love, affection and support towards my leadership,” Rio stated. The Chief Minister asserted that whatever has been achieved in the past decade is due to the overwhelming support of the people and the collective efforts of all members of the government including the elected members and the government machinery while extending his sincere appreciation to them.
As his mission statement before starting work as member of the Lok Sabha, the chief minister assured to work for the state of Nagaland and its people in his new role as the lone Lok Sabha Member of Parliament representing the State. He has sought support and cooperation of all in his undertaking responsibility and duties.
“Our appreciation goes to the electorate of the Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency and the assembly constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh who have supported our party,” the Chief Minister added. Rio has also appealed to all sections of the people to continue to strive towards unity, understanding and oneness in the greater interest of the people.
He further appealed to all rank and file of NPF to remain united and tirelessly strive towards achievement of the commitments given to the people.

Rio congratulates Modi, Singh

Rio congratulated Chief Minister of Gujarat and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and BJP president Rajnath Singh following the party’s mammoth win. He issued separate congratulatory messages to Modi and Singh on Friday.
Rio congratulated Modi on behalf of the State and the North East Regional Political Front.
“This victory is the result of your clear vision, commitment and hard works, as exhibited during your energetic and hectic election campaign… I fully agree with you that this is a victory for India, and that better days are ahead,” he said.
The Chief Minister has assured Modi all cooperation and support for formation of a strong and stable government at the Centre and for taking our country towards greater heights.
Likewise, Rio congratulated BJP president Rajnath Singh. “The scale of the victory is beyond the expectation not only of all independent poll observers, but also of even the most optimistic BJP supporters. This is the most emphatic endorsement by the people of India and the policies of the BJP under your able leadership, as well as your choice of the prime ministerial candidate, “ he said.
“On my own behalf, on behalf of the people of Nagaland and of the North East Regional Political Front, of which I am the convener, I once again pledge my fullest support to the new government to form by the BJP and its allies. I also send my best wishes for the new government,” Rio stated.
