Rio, former parliaments condole

Dimapur, March 28 (EMN): MP Lok Sabha Neiphiu Rio has expressed pained over the demise of former MLA, late Wokshing Phom, who passed away in Dimapur.

In a condolence message, Rio described late Wokshing as a committed and sincere leader, who always cared for the welfare of the people especially the weaker sections. Rio also said he gave his best years to public service and always remained committed towards peace and progress and had made positive contributions to the society. He added that late Wokshing will always be remembered with fond memories.

Rio lamented that his demise is a big loss to the Wokshing community in particular and Naga society in general. In his demise, he said Nagas have lost an elderly person, whose wisdom and guidance was crucial to the society.

Further, Rio conveyed his deepest condolences to the members of the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul rest in peace.”

Ex-Parliamentary Association: The Ex-Parliamentarian Association is shocked over the demise of late Wokshing Phom, Ex-MLA, son of late Nyapong Phom of Bura Namsang village on March 26, at Zion Hospital, Dimapur after a brief illness.

The association said late Wokshing was elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly in 1974 from Tamlu Assembly Constituency and described him as a sincere public leader who had served the people with full devotion and dedication.

The association president, T. Khongo, on behalf of Ex-Parliamentarian Association conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
