Rio emphasizes on importance of road map for all departments

State Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee (SLV&MC) and District Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee (DLV&MC) meetings were held consecutively today at RD Directorate Conference Hall, Kohima.
The State Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee (SLV&MC) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Minister for RD, C.L. John, who welcomed all the members present. V. Sakhrie, Commr. & Secy. who is also the member Secretary of SLV&MC, thanked Neiphiu Rio, MP Lok Sabha and Khekiho Zhimomi, MP Rajya Sabha for initiating the meeting and also stressed on the need to review the reports and status of departmental activities. Officers from Finance, Land Resources, Social Welfare, Roads & Bridges, Food & Civil Supplies, Veterinary, Sericulture, SIRD and RD presented their status report including their achievements and challenges.
Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio emphasized on the importance of having a road map to be given to all departments so as to enhance future developmental works and also requested that timely and regular supply of goods to the beneficiaries must be ensured under Food and Civil supplies. Being a welfare state, Rio also stressed on doing justice to everyone.
The District Level Vigilance & Monitoring Committee (DLV&MC) Meeting which was chaired by the Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio who highlighted on the recently launched Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) stating that he selected Seluophe Village under Dimapur district based on population, lack of infrastructure, health and education facilities etc. in this regard, he requested all departments to fully cooperate and extend all possible help in developing the Village as a model village.
Being the first Meeting of both State and district level, he observed it a good start and requested all members to give due importance to the Meeting.
It may be mentioned that Vigilance & Monitoring Committees (VMC) are constituted by the Ministry with a view to fulfill the objective of ensuring quality of expenditure, particularly in the context of large public funds being spent under the Ministry of Rural Development.
Others members present include Namri Chang, MLA, Eshak Konyak, MLA, Imtikimzuk, MLA, R. Tohanba, Parliamentary Secretary, Jacob Zhimomi, Parliamentary Secretary, Khriehu Liezietsu, Parliamentary besides Deputy Commissioners and Officers from member departments.
