Rio calls on CJI, Union ministers; seeks support for establishment of High Court

Dimapur, June 29 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday called on the Chief Justice of India, NV Ramana and sought his support for establishment of a separate High Court for the state.

An update from DIPR informed that Rio expressed his appreciation to the chief justice for his support and solidarity.

He also met with the Union Minister for Law and Justice, Communications, Electronics and IT, Ravi Shankar Prasad, in New Delhi on Monday and discussed issues related to establishment of a High Court, according to an update from the CM on microblogging site.

In another update, he stated he also called on Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed issues related to development and welfare of the state.

“I thank him for the concern and constant support extended to Nagaland and its citizens,” he tweeted.
