Riga’s Astroturf holds first futsal tournament

Dimapur, June 26 (EMN): Riga’s Astroturf, Tseminyu’s first astro turf, organised its first Open Futsal 5-a-side tournament with a total of 31 participating teams at New Terogunyu village under Tseminyu district on June 24 and 25.

Old Boys FC edged past Sharpshooters FC with a score of 4-2 to win the tournament and walked away with a cash prize of INR 20,000, while the runner-up received INR 10,000, an update informed.

Yhunshalo Kemp (Old Boys FC) was the highest goal scorer, Nendi Kath (Sharpshooters FC) was the best goal keeper and Neikethozo Yhome was the player of the tournament.

The tournament was declared open with a welcome address by Benlo Thyu, proprietor of Riga’s Astroturf, prayer by Pastor Yhusenlo Thyug and a kick off by Riga Thyug.

Teams and spectators from Botsa, Tuophema, Gariphema, Kohima, Lazami and Pughoboto participated in the tournament.
