Music is a piece that we all can connect with so Readers get connected with your favorite artists with the Rhythm of Love.
On Fridays, Eastern Mirror will feature Artists/bands from the state and outside while promoting MUSIC-the present craze of the state.

1. For those who may not yet have heard your music, how best would you describe yourself as a musician and artist?
Highland Oracle (HO): We would rather describe ourselves as struggling musicians. We are a rock n roll band , inspired by the catchy , hard hitting fun songs from the 70’s and 80’s.
2. When and why did you start playing? A little history of your band.
HO: Alem, Zulu and me (Imli) were in a band called Beatrix . We couldn’t last as we were busy with our studies. One day, in 2009 we got together with Along and Norkrang to play and things sounded good and the chemistry seemed right so we started playing all the time. We got a bunch of gigs to experiment on what genre we should follow. And this is how we founded our band.
3. Tell us the imaginative process you go through when making new songs.
HO: The songs that we make are based on real life humor and mishaps. We take inspirations from real life stories and put it in our songs.
4. How difficult is it for you to carve yourself a career in this industry and what is the scenario of music industry in Nagaland like?
HO: It takes a lot of dedication and hard work to get to where you are in the music industry with a little luck ofcourse. People are always looking out for something unique, something they have never heard. To create a sound which you can call it your own takes a lot of effort. We have a lot of talented naga artiste and musicians.a blend of different talents we should say. Everyone is so good in their respective genre. Lucky that we are born in a land where music is the soul in every household.
5. Do you get nervous before a performance or a competition? And how do you handle mistakes during a performance?
HO: After a lot of shows you get used to the stage atmosphere. The stage becomes a part of your fantasies. We don’t get nervous now.
We make a lot of mistakes during our shows. Everyone does. We just laugh it off. The key is, if you make a mistake, do it again so it doesn’t sound like a mistake.)
6. Which famous musicians you admire inspired you the most? Why?
HO: We got our inspiration from the band Queen. The song writing and music prooduction is just out of this world.
7. As a band has music always been a common passion for ‘Highland Oracle’ and something you’ve wanted to pursue as a career?
HO: YES
8. Any advice for the younger youths who are into music industry?
HO: Technology has made our life so easy. Everyone can come up with wonderful songs now. We have seen a lot of bands who doesn’t sound a bit like their record and it’s a very big disappointment for their fans. Experiment on what you want to sound like, your tones. Decide on how you want to sound like on the live set. Presentation is everything.
The five member man completes the band with Nokrang on Guitar and harmony
Alem: Drum
Imli: Vocal
Zulu: Rhythm and Harmony
Along: Bass
