Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): Nagaland government on Monday announced a revised standard operating procedure (SOP) for the returnees.

In the official daily Covid-19 briefing, government spokesperson on Covid-19, Neiba Kronu, informed that Chennai returnees, who are still in Kohima and Dimapur quarantine centres, will continue to remain there until they are tested.

“Those persons who test negative will be sent to their home district and those who test positive but do not require hospitalisation and are fit to travel will also be sent to their home districts to be kept at the Covid-19 hospitals for treatment under special transportation after following all the necessary health protocols. Those persons testing positive and showing symptoms requiring hospitalisation and not fit for travel will be shifted to the Covid hospitals of Dimapur and Kohima,” he said.

Returnees from the green zones of Northeast states—who arrived before May 18 and have completed 14 days institutional quarantine; and do not exhibit any symptoms—will be immediately released to undergo home quarantine for another 14 days without mandatory testing.

“From June 4 onwards, the returnees reaching the state at Dimapur either by train/air/road will be segregated district-wise at the entry point/Agri Expo site, thermally screened and all found asymptomatic will be transferred to the quarantine centres in the respective districts and likewise, returnees reaching the state through Khuzama, the district task force, Kohima will make similar arrangement,” he informed.

This was decided at a Cabinet meeting held on Monday.

The Cabinet also decided that the Health department will compile the status of Covid-19 patients for briefing to the media with details like district-wise number of asymptomatic patients and symptomatic patients like mild, moderate, severe, admitted in ICU with or without oxygen, and on ventilator support.

It also decided to convert the Tourist Lodge in Dimapur into a Covid-19 hospital.

No change in lockdown rules

Dimapur, June 1 (EMN): Chief Secretary Temjen Toy has informed that all the existing guidelines with regard to the lockdown will continue to remain operative in all parts of the state until further orders.
