The Naga Municipal Act (NMA), 2001 Review committee in a welcoming initiative has called for a meeting on 11th October “ to discuss matters pertaining to review of the NMA” , where “all members of the committee, Chairman/ President of Tribal Hohos and other stakeholders” have been invited. The “Tribal Hoho” representatives would obviously be our gentlemen but the term “other stakeholders” is a vague reference. While appreciating the effort, we sincerely hope our womenfolk are not sidelined or excluded from the decision making process of this significant Act.
Please ensure to involve our WOMEN representatives and in adequate numbers to allow for free and fair representation; in doing so, without the fear of being excommunicated by their respective tribal bodies. Kuknalim.
