Kohima, Sep. 11 (EMN): The union government on September 10, released INR 6,195.08 crore for 14 states including Nagaland, as the sixth equated monthly installment of the post-devolution revenue deficit grant.
The minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, announced it on Twitter.
“This would provide them additional resources during the Corona Crisis,” added the minister.
Nagaland's share was INR 32641.66 lakh (or INR 326.41 crore).
Andhra Pradesh (INR 491.41 crore), Assam (INR 631.58 crore), Himachal Pradesh (INR 952.58.crore), Kerala (INR 1,276.91 crore), Manipur (INR 235.33 crore), Meghalaya (INR 40.91 crore), Mizoram (INR 118.5 crore), Punjab (INR 638.25 crore), Tamil Nadu (INR 335.41 crore), Tripura (INR 269.66 crore), Uttarakhand (INR 423 crore), West Bengal (INR 417.75 crore) and Sikkim (INR 37.33 crore), are other recipients of the grant.
The amount released by the ministry of Finance was a grant-in-aid to cover the deficit on post-devolution revenue accounts in 2020-2021 as recommended by the Finance Commission on a monthly proportionate basis to the states.
