Returning officers notify on nominations for ULB elections

DIMAPUR — The returning officers (RO) of Mon Town Council (WTC), Wokha Town Council (WTC), Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) and Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) have notified that elections to the local urban bodies (ULBs) would be conducted with 33% reservation for women.

In separate notifications, the returning officers informed that the nomination papers could be delivered by a candidate or his proposer to the respective returning officers at the office of the additional deputy commissioner located at the DC’s office complex between 11 am and 3 pm from June 7 but not later than June 11. Candidates are asked to obtain the nomination paper from the office of the ADC.

It stated that the notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate or his proposer or his election agent (who has been authorised in writing by the candidate) at the ADC office before 3 pm on June 18.

In the event of the election being contested, it informed that polling would be held on June 26 between 7 am and 4 pm.

It further informed that re-polling, if any, would be conducted on June 28, while counting and declaration of results would be held on June 29.
