In response to the news item which appeared in Nagaland Post and Eastern Mirror on 21st, 24th and 26th April 2015 wherein my name was dragged in and for which I would like to clarify it for the consumption of the general public.
The appointment of the Chairman of Phek DPDB is done on rotation basis amongst the 5(five ) elected members representing 5(five)different constituencies for a tenure of 1(one)year each . And I was appointed as Chairman DPDB for the tenure 2014-15.
A decision was taken by the Board to have DPDB meeting in all the 4 (four) sub-division of the district to give a special focus to that particular sub-division as and when DPDB meeting is held there. And rest of the Board meetings are held in the district headquarter.
Likewise DPDB meeting was held at Pfütsero in August 2014, at Chizami in September 2014, at Chozuba in October 2014. And the DPDB meeting for Meluri sub-division was fixed to be in January 2015 but could not be held due to political crisis. This was re-scheduled to 10th April 2015 at Tizu river in a place called “Tekumle-Meluri” for DPDB meeting cum annual picnic.
On 10th April 2015 many officers attended the DPDB meeting cum picnic. As it was more of an outing, the Board decided to defer the agendas and the departmental activities to be presented by the Employment Department to the next DPDB meeting. The only agenda discussed on that day was installation of Solar Power at Tekumle-Meluri to pump water for agricultural activities as a pilot project and that too subject to the feasibility test being carried out by the Department of New and Renewable Energy (NRE). The idea was, if the project at Tekumle-Meluri is successful, than the same can be taken up in different parts of the state which are connected with rivers like Tizu, Zungki, Doyang, Dhansiri, Dikhu, Lang etc. This was followed by the review of the previous DPDB meeting minutes.
The various proposals/ representations submitted by the Pochury Hoho on that day were not discussed because all the proposals were already deliberated, approved and forwarded to the Government by the Board on its previous Board meeting. Only the proposal for SDPB for Meluri sub-division was deferred to the next DPDB meeting to be discussed along with SDPB for Pfütsero.
The board on that day simply reiterated what was previously approve and forwarded. And not as it appeared on some local dailies on 21st April 2015.
To Mr.Rayi Vadeo of Ziekezou colony Kohima, the Constitutional rights of the Freedom of Expression does not permit the right to a citizen to defame or character assassinate someone nor give the right to use unwarranted abusive language against others in the guise of expressing one’s opinion.
It is very unfortunate that so called concern citizen chose to highlight his opinion by using abusive words like “arrogant’’, “narrow-minded” & “tribalism”. It speaks volumes about the mental attitude of the writer. The DPDB members present on 10th April 2015 are witness to the proceedings and deliberations which took place on that day. There was no display or act of arrogance, narrow-mindedness or tribalism on that day.
The day winded up on a happy note.

Yitachu
Chairman, DPDB Phek
