DIMAPUR — A resident of Yeshu Arms Wellness Foundation Rehabilitation Centre in Chekiye Village, Block 6, Chümoukedima, died after reportedly being beaten by a caretaker at the facility.
According to local news reports on Wednesday night, the deceased, along with the caretaker involved, is a non-Naga, reportedly from Assam.
The rehabilitation centre, run by Abhishek Ghosh and Vishal Ghosh, has been operational for around four years. Local residents and Chekiye Village Council had repeatedly requested the facility to be relocated or properly secured.

Police from Diphupar Police Station have taken both the managing director and the director of the centre for questioning, it was reported.
The body of the deceased has been sent to District Hospital, Dimapur, for post-mortem examination.
As of Wednesday night, Chekiye Village Council was reported as holding a meeting to determine further action against the rehabilitation centre. The police investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not yet disclosed the exact circumstances or identities of those involved.
