DIMAPUR — After abstaining from the Independence Day celebrations, the 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) has now announced its decision to stay away from the coordination meeting convened by the department of Tourism on August 18.

In a press release issued on Sunday, the committee reiterated its decision to steer clear of all government meetings, events, and functions until the state government responds positively to it demands.

“In reference to the resolution adopted during the meeting of the five apex tribal bodies held on 9th August 2025, which calls for non-participation in all government meetings, events, and functions, it is hereby reiterated that the resolution remains in force until further notice.

“In view of this standing resolution, all five apex tribal bodies, along with their respective frontal organisations and constituent units, are advised to strictly adhere to and enforce the resolution within their respective jurisdictions,” the statement read.

While calling for non-participation in the August 18 meeting, the committee asserted that similar abstentions will apply to any future meetings, whether at the state or district level “until the state government responds positively to the demands raised in our representation to the chief secretary, Nagaland on 9th Aug. 2025.”
