DIMAPUR — In an exemplary act, the commissioner of police, Dimapur, Kevithuto Sophie, on Tuesday handed over one rescued Chinese pangolin to the staff of Wildlife Division, Dimapur.
An update from the Wildlife Division, Dimapur, informed that the pangolin was later handed over to Nagaland Zoological Park (NZP), Rangapahar, and is under observation by the veterinarian.
Meanwhile, it appealed to the public to report to the office of Wildlife Warden, Wildlife Division, Dimapur, in case of any incidents/ findings of wild animals in distress.
It further informed that wild animals held in captive without prior permission of the chief wildlife warden are a punishable offence under WL Act 1972.
