The District Health Society, Wokha, organised an RCH outreach health camp at CHC Bhandari in collaboration with 17th Assam Rifles, benefiting 242 patients.
DIMAPUR — The District Health Society, Wokha, organised a Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) outreach health camp at Community Health Centre (CHC), Bhandari, on September 12 in collaboration with the 17th Assam Rifles C Company, Bhandari.
The district medical team was led by Dr. Thungchanbemo, Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, and comprised specialists and healthcare personnel from various departments, including tuberculosis, gynaecology, ophthalmology, general medicine, RBSK/MMU, audiometry, social work and family planning, a DIPR report stated.
During a brief programme, Dr. Lydia, Ayush Medical Officer, CHC Bhandari, expressed appreciation to the Wokha medical team and the 17th Assam Rifles for their valuable services and support to the people.
Dr. Abenthung Murry, District Programme Officer, National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (DPO-NTEP), highlighted the importance of awareness, early detection and timely treatment of tuberculosis (TB) and hepatitis.
He also stressed the need for regular health check-ups, personal hygiene, healthy lifestyle practices and seeking medical attention at an early stage.

Poshan Maah 2026 launched in Zunheboto
A total of 242 patients registered and availed various healthcare services during the camp.
The beneficiaries included 91 patients under general services, 13 under ENT and hearing, 51 under eye care, 25 under obstetrics and gynaecology, 25 for sputum testing and chest X-ray, eight for vector-borne disease screening, 14 for HIV screening and 15 under the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS).
Free medicines were also distributed to the patients.
The outreach camp provided people from Bhandari and surrounding villages with access to essential healthcare services, along with awareness on preventive healthcare and early diagnosis.
