Dimapur, April 17 (EMN): To cater the needs of the students’ community and for convenience of the public, Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) has revised tuition fee structure which would come into effect from May within its jurisdiction in all the Tseminyu sub-division.
The resolution to revise tuition fee structure was taken during the 4th union assembly of the Rengma Students’ Union (RSU) and in keeping into account the difficulties faced by the students and tutors as well.
A joint press release, RSU president, Kisheto Kent Rengma, and the education and statistical secretary, Ziya Kath, stated that tuition fee structure has been categorised into two groups. The union stated that tuition fees from Classes VII and below has been fixed at INR 400, while the fees from Class VIII to X has fixed at INR 500. It added that numbers of students should not exceed a maximum of eight students for each batch.
For home tuition, the union has fixed a monthly fee of INR 2000 with a minimum of four days in a week.
The union cautioned that failure to comply with its resolution would face consequences. In order to strengthen the students’ community and for better functioning, the union urged the public to bring into its notice in case of non-compliance.
The union also expressed displeasure on the unhealthy practice of proxy teaching in Tseminyu jurisdiction. The union warned all teachers to immediately report to their designated posting places before the first quarterly exam and detach themselves from any political activities. The union also asked all teachers to cease their involvement in any social organisations that could hamper their teaching and hindering the progress of the students at large.
The union further asked its federating units and subordinate bodies and departments of school education for cooperation.
