Dimapur, Aug. 19 (EMN): The Rengma Naga Peoples’ Council (RNPC) has appealed to all the parties involved in the Indo-Naga negotiations to exercise prudence before finalising any agreement. In a statement issued on Monday, the RNPC expressed hope that “no Nagas’ God-given rights” would be compromised in the name of negotiation. Also, the council prayed for unity among Nagas within and outside the current Indian state of Nagaland. “In recent times we have witnessed enough misunderstandings amongst ourselves. As a nation, Naga Hoho is our first and frontier civil organisation, the apex body of Nagas and NSCN IM is leading the Naga nationalism movement. “We don’t demean, underrate or undervalue the other NNPGs, CSOs and tribal bodies. In fact, the other two won’t function without the rest, they just won’t exist at all. Thus, we request our fellow Naga brothers and sisters that it is imperative to strengthen our apex body for achieving common social and political goals,” it stated.
