The NPF led by Noke said Dr Shurhozelie ‘the ex-NPF party president’ exposed his autocratic mind by suspending nine MLAs despite Kaito Aye’s group enjoying clear majority thereby compelling the party workers and legislators to elect a new party president Noke Wangnao, ‘whose regionalist stance and integrity are unquestionable’ thus saving the party’s future. The Noke led NPF said that in the wake of ‘ex-NPF party president’ Dr Shurhozelie continuing the tirade of issuing threats and intimidations against ‘honourable members’ it is constrained to issue this clarification so that the public are not confused any further.
Accordingly, the new president keeping in mind the best interest of the party immediately revoked all suspension orders issued earlier by ex-NPF party president Dr Shurhozelie to nine ‘honourable members’ and also appointed Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu as the new party chief whip which was unanimously endorsed by the party legislature, the statement of NPF (Noke group) said.
Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu has been performing his duties and function as per the laid down procedure of the party constitution and not as Dr Shurhozelie, ex-NPF party president, it claimed.
Moreover, any appointment made by the ex-NPF president is illegal and holds no legal sanction. As such, it will be treated as null and void, it asserted.
Besides, there is no room for an ex-NPF party president to issue threats and intimidation as he has been removed from office and has no political or moral responsibility to continue claiming to be the party president. Instead, he should accept his defeat and removal gracefully and pave way for the new president to take charge of office, it added.
“Furthermore, issuing threats and intimidations only indicates Dr Shurhozelie’s desperation as a leader upon his removal from the party’s top job,” the statement also said.
