[dropcap]S[/dropcap]hri. EDUZU THULUO was one time a BJP worker, served as State Unit General Secretary. During 2004 December, when the Kohima Town Council Election was to be held, the BJP offered him a Ticket, but he refused and contested as an Independent Candidate wherein he was defeated. His arrogance above the Party cost the BJP one seat in the KTC. Therefore, subsequently he was expelled from the BJP membership for 6 years for anti-party activity during the Leadership of Shri. ATO YEPTHOMI,then BJP state unit President. On expulsion from BJP, he joined the Congress Party and actively working there.
Recently, upon the overwhelming performance and Victory of the BJP, and the shoddily defeat of the Congress at the Centre, shri. Eduzu Thuluo returned to the BJP fold. He joined the BJP by enrolling directly through the state and got active member, by-passing the norms i.e., District Office and the Mandal. He has being holding the post of disciplinary action committee member.
Shri. Eduzu Thuluo, originally hails from Phek District, but over the years he is a permanent resident of PWD Colony, Kohima. Therefore, it is unacceptable that a non-resident should shoulder the responsibility and hold the post of President, BJP Phek. President state unit have clearly given emphasis and importance to the post of President to be occupied and held by such permanent resident at the Office Head Quarter i.e. PHEK DISTRICT.
It is pertinent to mention here that, BJP, Phek District Unit held a meeting on 08/09/2014. It was chaired by Er. Vekho Swuro, president of Phek District BJP. The meeting was attended by BJP State Executives i.e. Shri. R.SOPU, Vice President Phek District incharge, BJP Nagaland and Shri VIHOSHE JAMES, General Secretary (Adm), BJP Nagaland, in their official capacity as ‘ STATE OBSERVERS’ deputed by Dr M.Chuba Ao State BJP President. In the meeting, Mr Vethisa Lohe the Phek BJP founder gave the exhortation and follows deliberations of various issues pertaining to the functioning of the BJP, Phek Unit. Among other things,
1. Er.Vekho Swuro having rendered his willingness to be relieved from the post of President, Phek District and to serve as National Executive Member Special Invitee in ST Morcha, the house was arrogant and objected. Intervene by state observer Mr James Vihoshe advice that the house is within its quorum to nominate a capable person to fill the vacancy created by relieving Er.Vekho Swuro from the post of President.
2. Accordingly, we look into the past Presidents Mr Vethisa Lohe, Mr. Shetsuyi, Mr Vedayi Nyekha, Mr Vethisa Lohe caretaker incharge and Mr Kuduta Nienu where all are from 18th chozuba constituency. Therefore according to the intension of the state President which emphasising on a permanent resident of Phek Town HQ to hold the Phek District President post, Mr. KUPOTA KHUSOH name was nominated by Mr Pudusayi Mandal President 17th Pfutsero and seconded by mr Muzipra Lohe Mandal President 18th Chozuba and Mr Tsethiitho President 20th Meluri constituency. The house accepted the nomination and formally forwarded through state observers to obtain the appointment order from the state President.
Therefore we the undersigned Mandals are constrained to express our resentment and objections with regard to the statements released in the media which is in total violation of the rules of the constitution of the BJP and would set negative Precedent. Our Mandal President existence and concern hard labour and loyalty with continuity in the past difficult years for the party has been over looked and rather made a mockery. Promoting selfish opportunist entrants is a callous approach demeans the democratic setup of the party in Phek district in particular and in the state and centre in general.
