Registration opens for Yoddha Fighting Championship in Mokokchung

For the first time in Mokokchung town, the Yoddha Fighting Championship (or MMA – Mixed Martial Arts) will be held at the Multipurpose Sports Complex on November 27 and 28 where more than fifteen fighters will take part in the championship.
Organized by the MFC, the Yoddha Fighting championship, which is one of the most popular fighting championships, is being brought to Mokokchung as a promotional event for MMA India.
The championships which will be held for two days will be fought in three categories: Fly Weight (50-57 kilogram); Bantam weight (58-61 kilogram); Feather Weight (62-66 kilogram) categories. The organizers have earmarked a total cash prize of more than Rs 1,00,000 (one lakh) for the winners in the different categories.
Altogether, there are more than ten local fighters from Mokokchung who have already registered for the Championship. Besides, there will be another 10 – 15 fighters from outside the state (from all over India) who will be participating in the championship. Most interestingly, there will two exhibition matches which will be played between professional Mixed Martial Artists.
The MFC is bringing this championship, keeping in mind the huge interest among the present youths in the society, especially with the gaining popularity of the UFC matches being telecast on television.
The MFC hopes that in the future, some of the competitors in this championship would be able to perform in a bigger stage in the national and even international arena.
The judges, the referees and the cage for the championship will be provided by MMA-India, Dimapur Unit.
The tickets priced at Rs 300 (admit one for one night) is already out and can be found in Mokokchung. Besides, there is a donor card priced at Rs 1000/- admit two.
