DIMAPUR — Phek division of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) conducted a two-day refresher training on the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) and the Family Planning Logistic Management Information System (FPLMIS) for healthcare workers on August 17 and 18 at the Dr. Wethselo T Mero Memorial Hall of the District Hospital in Phek.
An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Phek, stated that the main objectives of the training were to re-orient the healthcare workers to maintain consistency in reporting, ensure quality reporting and scale up the performance of the health units.
The resource persons of the training were Dr. Shevo Hiese, DSO; Sedeu Rupreo, DPM NHM; and Kekhriele-u Angami, programme officer of Surveillance NISHTHA/Jhpeigo.
During the training, the healthcare workers were reviewed on different reporting done on SP and L forms under the IHIP-IDSP portal to avoid making any errors in different levels of health facilities during entry of reports, incomplete data entry, duplication of same patient details etc.
Sedeu highlighted that FPLMIS provides a common platform for effective supply chain management, including forecasting and demand-based supply. It was stated that the application calculates annual demand and usage for online indenting, distribution, and stock management. Additionally, he mentioned that FPLMIS is web-based, mobile app-based, and also utilises mobile SMS.
The training was attended by medical officers, community health officers, GNM, ANMs, pharmacists, lab technicians, BAC from DH, CHC, PHCs, HWC-SC, SC and from Mero Hospital, Pfutsero.
Altogether, 83 healthcare workers attended the refresher training.
