Dimapur, May 25 (EMN): Don Bosco School, Zubza has been offered to the district task force (DTF) Kohima to be used as a Covid Care Centre for the people of Sechu Zubza sub-division.
The offer was made by the Rector and Parish Priest Catholic Church, Sechu Zubza, Fr. Nellisseril Joseph to the DTF Kohima through the SDO (C) Sechu Zubza, Tiayanger Jamir in the presence of medical officer Sechu Zubza, village authorities of Sechu Zubza and NGOs on Tuesday.
According to a DIPR update, the school building can accommodate 40 beds with in-house facilities for doctors and nurses round the clock.
It said that the SDO (C) expressed his gratitude to Don Bosco School for their “service towards humanity not only in normal times but also in a pandemic situation that the world is facing now where many people are hesitating to come forward to lend a helping hand”. He thanked the parish priest and all the fraternity of Don Bosco School, Sechu Zubza and the Catholic community in general.
“Setting up of Covid Care Centres in the rural areas is contemplated by the government in the worst case scenario,” it read.
It also informed that Government High School Zubza would be converted into facility quarantine for the doctors and frontline workers. He further appealed to the people of Western Angami area to “come together in prayer as well as in deeds to collectively handle this pandemic since a time has come where everyone should be responsible”.
