Reconciliation should be based on ‘national principle’—Tuccu

Dimapur, Dec. 18 (EMN): The chairman (yaruiwo) of NSCN (IM), Q Tuccu has asserted that though ‘reconciliation and unity is a matter of necessity’, it should be based on ‘national principle’.

According to a press release from the group’s publicity wing on Wednesday, Tuccu was delivering the presidential address at the ‘tatar hoho winter session’ of the NSCN (IM) at Hebron.

“NSCN is of the stand that the framework agreement is not only the basis of the solution to the long-drawn Indo-Naga political problem but also the uniting point for all the Nagas,” he was reported as saying.

Tuccu reminded the members that the NSCN (IM) is passing through a crucial period that demands the members to be cautious to help smooth governance and administration that will go to strengthen the security strategy and financial stability.

“He reminded the house that the Indo-Naga political negotiation is making positive progress and told the members to stand firm without losing sight of the final goal that lies ahead. He believed that a political settlement that is honourable and acceptable to both the parties would have arrived at the earliest through sincerity and political commitment.

“The yaruiwo acknowledged the contribution of all Nagas that includes church organisations, civil society organisations, student’s organisations and rank and file of NSCN who unceasingly prayed for the success of the Indo-Naga political talk that was at a crucial stage, and finally leading to the breakthrough and understanding that arrived at on October 31, 2019, in the talks at New Delhi,” it read.

Tuccu also “paid revolutionary salute to all the Naga martyrs and their widowed wives and orphaned children”, it informed.
