Reality show bands from Delhi and Kochi to perform in Dimapur
In an epic journey, two music bands that are being made to earn most amount of money and win most number of fans as part of a reality show, has touched down in Nagaland. The bands have been made to produce and perform shows in seven north-eastern states with limited capital as part of the competition.
The bands, namely The Derelicts from Kochi and Dee En from Delhi are expected to complete tasks and additionally learn more about the culture in each state they visit. The bands were chosen out of over 100 entries that came in after a call for submissions in July.
The bands have already performed and competed in Meghalaya, Mizoram, Assam, Tripura, Manipur now Nagaland and the last leg to be completed at Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh.
Dee En’s music has been able to reach the attention of listener’s in the country over the last few months ever since the release of their debut record ‘Whoopsie Daisy EP’. Dee En’s genre being synthpop and psychedelic pop gained rave reviews across well known platforms like Rolling Stones India, The Wild City and others.
Hailing from Kochi, India, The Derelicts is an alternative/Disco/Electronic band which has been described as a band with unique sonic textures. Formed in 2016, the band released their single ‘Happy Sad’ from their debut, self- titled, EP on March 2018 through Overfeed records. A video is in the works for ‘Happy Sad’ which is expected to be out soon as well.
Currently the two bands are set to perform at Native B, opposite Pantaloons on September 22 from 8 pm onwards in Dimapur where their skills and pro activeness will be put to test while also being filmed as part of the show. The show is open for all with no entry fees.
