Reaching out to masses NEZCC way

EMN DIMAPUR, MARCH 6 SHOWCASING diverse cultures of the country, the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) organized a grand road show to reach out to the masses here on Friday. The participants of the road show passed through the streets of Dimapur and performed at Purana Bazaar, City Tower, DC Court Junction, Super Market and Chumukedima. The cultural troupes from Odisha, Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and child artistes from the north-eastern states participated in the road show organized as part of the week-long ongoing Spring Festival 2014 organized by NEZCC. The festival began at NEZCC complex, Dimapur on March 3.The basic objective of the road show was to create awareness about diverse cultures of India and also to give an opportunity to the people here to witness the rich cultures of the country, Director, NEZCC, Lipokmar Tzudir said. On March 8, the Spring Festival will feature a Choreographed Folk Dance Show at the NEZCC campus with artistes drawn from different parts of the country. The daytime competitive activities such as traditional go-karting, traditional stilt walking, tug of war, greased pole climbing, Mizo children games, rope swingers of Nagaland and Rajasthan will add colour to the festival on March 8 and 9 from 11 am onwards.
