Dimapur, July 12 (EMN): Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya and the members of Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland (IRCSN) State branch had a gratitude meeting at Red Cross Conference Hall, Kohima on July 11.
Acharya, who is also the President of IRCSN, told the gathering that he was pleased to interact with the members of the IRCSN, informed an update from DIPR. He said he learns from such interactions and that he had performed his duty as the president of the society with a clean conscience.
The Governor said that the State witnessed much achievement in the field of development during the last five years and that Nagaland is more developed than other tribal states of the country. He also assured that the central government would grant more aid for developmental activities of the state in the coming years too.
Indian Red Cross Society Nagaland being an international movement should reach out to the people in need, said Acharya, adding that the society may not have achieved the expected goals but is progressing consistently. He also requested the members of IRCSN to target orphanages as such homes are mostly looked after and taken care by individuals or families.
Acharya assured that he would do more for the betterment of the state- for peace and development, and that he would be there for social cause.
