Re-poll for inner Manipur LS seat successfully conducted

Our Correspondent Imphal, April 24 (EMN): With necessary security arrangements, the re-polling for inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat has concluded with no major violence with a polling percentage of 87.12 on Wednesday. The repolling was started from 7 am in the morning at 12 polling stations located at four assembly segments in Imphal East district. However there are unconfirmed reports of heated arguments between the political workers of rival parties in some of the polling stations but no unwanted incidents were reported. A total of 87.12 percent voters turn out was reported, according to chief electoral officer’s reports. The repolling was conducted at 12 polling stations which include 5 in Heingang assembly constituency which is the native assembly constituency of Chief Minister N Biren, 4 in Keirao assembly constituency, 2 in Andro assembly constituency and 1 in Thongju assembly constituency. There is a total 9077 voters including 4379 male and 4697 females in the said 12 polling stations.
