RBSK team Phek covers all blocks, 2146 children screened

DIMAPUR — The Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) team Phek comprising of Dr. Chikhopalu; Rukhevinuo GNM; Vekupolu GNM and Kotsho, RBSK coordinator, successfully conducted its monthly activities for the month of October.

According to an update, the team provided comprehensive health screening services for developmental delays including disabilities.

The team covered government schools (GHS, GMS and GPS) and Anganwadi centres in all the blocks under Phek district, and a total of 2146 children were screened.

Necessary treatment and medication were provided and distributed. Additionally, referrals were forwarded to District Hospital, Phek and NHAK for further treatment. 

The RBSK is a programme under National Health Mission which aims to improve overall quality life of children envisaging child health screening and early intervention services.

“The programme aims to reduce child mortality and morbidity, improve nutrition levels and ensure holistic development for children,” it stated.
