Dimapur, Oct 23 (EMN): The governor of Nagaland RN Ravi wishes the people of Nagaland peace and unity as the Hindu community in the country celebrates the Dussehra and Durga Puja festivals.
‘I extend warm greetings to the people of Nagaland on the occasion of Dussehra and Durga Puja. Durga Puja celebrates the mother goddess and her victory over the demon Mahishasura,’ the governor stated in a message on Friday issued to the media.
‘This festival is a celebration of victory of truth over falsehood, triumph of the righteous and defeat of the evil.’
The governor also emphasised on observing all safety measures and taking precautions considering the Covid-19 pandemic.
‘It is absolutely necessary for the safety of our people that this year we celebrate Durga Puja festival observing all the Covid-19 protocols,’ he said.
“May this auspicious festival inspire us to follow the path of virtue and guide us towards oneness, peace and happiness,” he added.
