Kohima, Sep. 11 (EMN): Senior Naga People’s Front (NPF) legislator, Imkong L Imchen on Saturday said that RN Ravi was “no doubt an active Governor of Nagaland” but underestimated the political dynamics of the state.
Imchen said that besides being an active Governor, Ravi was also “very active interlocutor in the initial stage up to signing of the historic Framework Agreement between the Government of India and NSCN (IM)”.
“But he (Ravi) miserably failed while dealing with the seven Naga National Political Groups (NNPG) while undermining the NSCN (IM) in the meantime,” Imchen told Eastern Mirror.
The former state’s home minister asserted that Ravi also “underestimated the political dynamics of the state politics which he has taken for a ride”.
Imchen shared that during his short stay in the state as the governor, Ravi ‘tried to unearth some of the corruption activities in the government; however, this issue was left half-done and pushed to the back burner for the reason known only to him”.
“Others were just routine duties of a governor,” he added.
Ravi was on Thursday relieved from the charge of Nagaland Governor after being appointed as the governor of Tamil Nadu through a Rashtrapati Bhavan communiqué.
Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi had been given the additional charge of Nagaland until regular arrangements are made.
