Dimapur, April 16 (EMN): Nagaland Governor RN Ravi on Friday told students to stay away from social media during an interaction programme with rank holders and toppers of High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination 2020 held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, in Kohima.

An update from DIPR stated that Ravi congratulated the students and told them that “this one year of their life” is most crucial as it will determine their entire future. He also advised them to “have a healthy routine, proper time management and stay away from social media and to be passionate with their targets”.

He told them to work hard, give more time to the subjects they are weak in and reach out to friends and teachers to clear doubts or join coaching classes.

He further requested the chairman of NBSE to maintain a record of the careers of achievers.

While congratulating the students, Advisor for School Education, KT Sukhalu told them that education is not just about getting a degree to get a job, but a medium to bring about changes and eradicate various problems.

He also urged them to value education, maintain the same spirit to excel, and be examples for the next generation.

Principal Director of School Education, Shanavas C encouraged the students to ‘live a life like a ladder, taking steps at a time’ but not to be over confident, saying ‘it is difficult to climb but easy to fall’.

Stating that there are opportunities everywhere but many don’t venture out due to lack of awareness, he encouraged the students to have a career group where students can share ideas, interact about various subjects etc., to beat competitors from other states.

DCP-II, Dimapur, Aotula Imchen, also encouraged the gathering to work hard, sacrifice more, make decisions, bear the pain, take in criticism, and make efforts to achieve their dreams. She also advised them to thank their parents for their sacrifices, respect everyone that comes their way, make choices and “never give up on oneself”.

Altogether, 40 rank holders and toppers of HSLC exam 2020 from all the districts attended the event. An interaction session was also held with the governor at the event.
