Dimapur, Oct. 8 (EMN): Governor RN Ravi has expressed shock and sadness at the tragic passing away of Dr. Ashwani Kumar, former Governor of Nagaland, in Shimla on October 7.
In a condolence message issued on Thursday, Ravi stated that Kumar was a ‘thorough professional and an excellent human being throughout his life, and his contribution to the people and society will be remembered for many years to come’.

“Dr. Ashwani Kumar had served the people of the country in various capacities including the gubernatorial post of Governor of Nagaland, Director of Central Bureau of Investigation, Director General of Police, Himachal Pradesh, Chancellor of APG Goyal Shimla University, etc.,” the condolence message read.
“I on behalf of the people of Nagaland, on behalf of the Nagaland Raj Bhavan family and on my own behalf convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. May Almighty God give strength and solace to withstand this great loss. May the departed soul rest in peace,” it added.
