Dimapur, May 22 (EMN): In view of steep rise in Covid-19 cases, the Dimapur District Task Force (DTF) conducted random sampling test from May 17 to the 21st at various locations in Dimapur district and the results showed 9.84% positivity rate with 72 out of 731 people tested positive for the virus.
On May 17, a total of 161 samples were collected from Marwaripatti, Kalibari, New Market, Chekiye, Thilixu and Naharbari, out of which 13 people tested positive, official source informed.
A total of 170 samples were collected from Thahekhu, Kavijau, Lhomithi, Signal Angami, Chümoukedima, Seithekima and Sovima on May 18, out of which results of 21 samples returned positive.
On the third day (May 19), a total of 158 samples were collected from Railway colony, NST colony, Bank colony, Purana Bazaar, Padampukhuri and Toluvi, out of which 17 samples returned positive.
On May 20, a total of 116 samples were collected from United Village, Naga United, Diphuphar under Chümoukedima area, PWD colony and Lingrijan colony, wherein 19 samples returned positive.
While on Friday May 21, the final day of random sampling collection as per the order issued by the Dimapur CMO on May 14, a total of 126 samples were collected from Nagarjan and Burma Camp, out of which two samples tested positive.
