Random sample test in Kohima shows 54.43% positivity rate
Dimapur, May 17 (EMN): In a startling revelation, random sampling test conducted by the Kohima District Task Force (DTF) on Covid-19 showed 54.43% positivity rate with results of 301 people out 553 returning positive for the virus.
The exercise was carried out in order to ascertain the prevalence of Covid-19 among high risk and highly mobile population within Kohima and random sampling was conducted at New Market and Bayavü colony, Kohima, on Monday, stated an update from DIPR.
The medical team led by Chief Medical Officer Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo, district administration, police, APO, AYO and ASU, it added.
Here is colony-wise cumulative results of the samples collected as on May 17 from taxi drivers, shopkeepers, labourers and home delivery personnel:
Lerie colony- 35 samples collected, 20 tested positive; PWD colony- 30 samples, 20 positive; Paramedical (Merhülitsa)- 22 samples, 13 positive; New Ministers’ Hill- 28 collected, 15 positive; AG- 20 samples, one positive; Peraciezie- 59 samples, 42 positive; P.R. Hill- 31 samples, 18 positive; Jail colony- 57 samples, 38 positive; Keziekie- 38 samples, 12 positive; Naga Bazaar- 62 samples, 33 positive; Daklane 21- samples, 18 positive; Kitsubozou- 56 samples, 30 positive; D’ Block- 53 samples, 14 positive; and Hospital colony- 41 samples, 27 positive.
