Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha: Organisations ask members to keep shops closed till 2 pm

DIMAPUR — Dimapur Bengali Samaj (DBS) has requested all the community members to celebrate Pran Pratishtha of lord Ram on January 22 by lighting lamps.

In an update, the DBS described it as a fortunate event for devotees to be a part of such a momentous occasion following five centuries of sacrifice and struggle by lakhs of people.

The organisation requested all its members to keep their commercial and business premises closed till 2 pm and participate in celebrations socially and individually. It further asked to ensure the removal of flags after the celebrations.

Meanwhile, in view of the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya, the Dimapur Durga Mandir Trust Committee has chalked out a day-long programme.

According to an update, the festivities will commence with prayers and aarti at the temple at 11:15 am, followed by a live telecast of the Ayodhya ceremony starting at 11:30 am at the Durga Mandir hall.

At 1:30 pm, the Durga Mandir Sundarkand and Sakha Mandal will arrange a community feast. In the evening, sundarkand prayers will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by the lighting of 1,100 diyas in the temple.

The committee has requested all members to close shops and businesses until 2 pm on January 22. The members have also been encouraged to offer prayers in the temple or at home and distribute sweets.

In the evening, diyas are to be lit in homes and shops to mark the celebration.
