Ram Mandir Consecration: Governor visits temple in Kohima

DIMAPUR — Commemorating the consecration of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan visited the Hindu Mandir at PWD in Kohima on Monday.

During the visit, the governor offered puja and attended the live telecast of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony held in Ayodhya, as per an update from Raj Bhavan Kohima.

The report further mentioned that on this auspicious day, devotees from various walks of life and of all ages gathered to witness the consecration of the Ram Temple ceremony and also performed Vedic rituals to seek the blessings of the deity.

The governor was accompanied by Wezope Kenye, commissioner and secretary for Youth Resources and Sports, who is also holding an additional charge as the secretary to the governor, along with Mhomo Tungoe, joint secretary to the governor, and other officials.

GPPK holds special programme

Meanwhile, to commemorate the consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the Gorkha Singhadevi Mandir Committee, Chandmari, under the aegis of the Gorkha Public Panchayat Kohima (GPPK) and its frontal organisations, held a special programme.

The occasion was marked by the live screening of the Ayodhya programme at GPPK’s Multi-Utility Hall in the presence of IGP Nagaland Khalate Vikram Mukundrao, principal director of School Education Thavaseelan K., SP Kohima Bharat Laxman, and president of Durga Mandir Samity Sudipta Kumar Dey.

According to an update, Temjen Imna Along, Minister for Tourism and Higher Education, later joined the live screening.

Santu Thapa, president of the GPPK, presided over the formal programme, and Milan Sunam of the Gorkha Singhadevi Mandir Committee proposed the vote of thanks.
