DIMAPUR — A cyclonic circulation situated over northeast Assam and nearby regions, coupled with a trough in westerlies stretching approximately along Long. 93°E to the north of Lat. 23°N in lower tropospheric levels, is expected to bring significant weather changes to the northeastern states, including Nagaland, in the coming days.
As a result of these weather systems, the forecast indicates fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning over Arunachal Pradesh, according to the All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.
Similarly, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall is expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from March 26 to the 30th, the bulletin stated.
Arunachal Pradesh is also likely to receive isolated heavy rainfall or snowfall during this period, while isolated light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is very likely over Gangetic West Bengal on March 26 and from March 28 to the 30th.
Other states including Bihar, Kharkhand and Odisha are also likely to see isolated light to moderate rainfall during the same period, as per the bulletin.
