The Rainbow Choir with a guest to share Naga culture and the best of Naga tradition with the world and beyond our land will organize a cultural show ‘Ethnic Blend 2014’ under the theme ‘Peace & Unity through Culture’ on October 24 at Town Hall, Dimapur.
The show will feature a colourful array of cultural attires worn on different occasions, besides Cultural Dance from Chekiye Cultural Troupe and indigenous music by Anüri Nienü.
Rainbow Choir, a Christian choral group that intends to sing in various parts of harmony, with or without instrumental accompaniment was formed with an inspiration to tell brethrens that Nagas have unique tradition and beautiful culture of our own within the boundary of the Indian nation.
The desire and decision of the Rainbow Choir have uplifted the morale, giving shape to RAINBOW comprising of a youth group that will walk the way giving expression to the tones and steps of the culture and traditions, especially with our countrymen.
Singing is one of the great talents given to Nagas, every single Naga – with or without professional training. Hence the Rainbow Choir believes that with the little ability of singing, the group aims to showcase Nagas culture and tradition through our choir.
It has been over 60 years since India has been a nation. The world of variety in terms of culture and tradition is still to be explored while considering the vastness of the Cultural India. Nagaland, rich in culture and tradition, with a unique topography, is a joyful surprise to many of our Indian friends. The little they know about Nagas is mostly confined to insurgency and dog-meat eating. The people from North East region are often misunderstood as Chinese, Bhutanese or Nepalese and dubbed “chinkies”
Altogether 20 organizations & tribal Hohos have approached for participation in the event while preparations are underway for the same.
If in any case any tribal organization has been left uninformed, Rainbow Choir Nagaland sincerely requests the same to kindly call us at 9615089322/9402749559 or mail us at rainbowchoir.naga@gmail.com
