Rain, dense fog expected across Nagaland, NE states— IMD

DIMAPUR — Light to moderate rain is very likely at a few places across Nagaland and the north eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura over the next few days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.

Dense fog is also likely in isolated pockets across the region, the IMD said in the All India Weather Summary and Forecast Bulletin published on Dec. 8.

The cyclonic circulations over the Southeast Arabian Sea and nearby Maldives area, as well as East Bangladesh and neighbouring areas, persist.

As such, gradual fall in minimum temperatures by about 2-4°C are very likely over Northwest, Central & East India during next 3 days and no significant change thereafter, the bulletin stated.

Fresh feeble Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from Dec. 11, it added.

The IMD forecasted light to moderate rainfall at some places with isolated thunderstorm and lightning in Kerala & Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Lakshadweep during next the next four-five days along with isolated heavy rainfall over Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep.

Hailstorms are also likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalaya West Bengal and Sikkim on Dec. 12, it said.
