Railway Protection Force arrests two touts

Dimapur, Nov. 3 (EMN): The Railway Protection Force of N.F. Railway has been conducting special drives on receipt of information to keep a check on the menace of touts. On October 18, a CIB team of RPF, Guwahati conducted decoy check in a shop named Cyber Planet, located at Noonmati, Guwahati.

According to a press statement issued on Tuesday, it stated that after collecting sufficient evidence regarding involvement of the said shop in the illegal business of railway E-ticketing, on November 1, the  team along with officer and staff of RPF Guwahati conducted a search in the said shop with the help of local police Noonmati PS under the supervision of Inspector, RPF Guwahati.

The search was conducted in presence of shop owner namey  Nayanjyoti Deka(33) and recovered 13 railway E-tickets generated using personal user ID. Total value of the recovered e-tickets was INR 10,430 of which four were used tickets worth INR  3,754 and nine future tickets worth INR 6,676.

” On being asked, the owner of the shop confessed that he doesn’t have any IRCTC authorisation certificate and generated the above recovered railway E-tickets through personal user ID for his benefit. As such, the recovered railway E-tickets along with other relevant items have been seized by RPF Guwahati and the owner of the shop namely Nayanjyoti Deka has been taken into custody and produced before RPF/New Guwahati with a written complaint. In this connection, RPF/New Guwahati has registered a case vide No. 60/2020 U/S 143 Rlys Act, dated Nov.1, 2020,” it stated.

In another case at Katihar division on October 28, acting on information regarding touting activities, Inspector of RPF,Barsoi,  Nazrul Khan and Inspector of RPF, Samsi, Vinit Kumar along with their team conducted a raid and search at Khuriyal Purab Tola under PS-Azamnagar and apprehended one person namely, Md. Anayat Hussain (30)and recovered 12 E- tickets, valued INR  19,681 of which 8 were live E- Tickets worth INR 16,067and 4 were used E-tickets worth INR  3,614. One Vivo mobile phone and one printer were also recovered. In this regard, a case has been registered at RPF Post, Barsoi vide No. 100/2020 dated October 28,2020 u/s 143 (1) Railways Act.
