Quarantine centres in Dimapur to charge for food

Dimapur, Aug. 8 (EMN): In pursuance to the government notification, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, Rajesh Soundararajan, has informed that the quarantinees would be charged for food provided at the respective quarantine centres with effect from August 10.

The DC further notified that Dimapur district task force has fixed INR 350 per person per day at institutional quarantine, which included INR 40 for breakfast, INR 130 for lunch, INR 130 for dinner, INR 20 for water and INR 30 for logistic expenses (packing, fuel, delivery cost etc), a DIPR report stated on Saturday.

It also informed that payment to the caterers would be done on a daily basis and official in-charge/ managers of quarantine centres would collect the amount from the quarantinees and deposit the amount to the caterers.
The notification also stated that quarantinees can opt to arrange their own food from outside the quarantine centres for which the food should be packed in single-use disposable containers, preferably of bio-degradable material.

The DC further informed that caterers and other persons delivering food would not be allowed to enter the quarantine centres adding food packets should be dropped at designated points outside the quarantine centres only. It added that quarantinees would get release slips from QC only after clearance of food bill.

Meanwhile, the DC has sought support and co-operation from all concerned in the fight against the Covid-19.

The DC has also issued an order after observing that healthcare and frontline workers were denied entry and exit for performing their duties by some individuals and groups of their respective ward and colony.

He cautioned that any individual/ organisation issuing unwarranted directives/ statement, which infringe on individual rights and in violation of government orders, would be liable for punishment under Section 3 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The DC further requested the concerned village/ colony authorities to take cognisance of the same and intervene if such situation arises.
