The qualifying stage of the 15th Lotha Football Championship concluded in Wokha with thrilling matches and decisive wins.

WOKHA — The qualifying group stage of the Lotha Football Championship 2026 concluded at the public ground, Wokha, on Tuesday, with three matches deciding the quarterfinalists for the 15th edition.
The first match between Airfield Colony FC and Star Madrid FC ended in a 2-2 draw.
Star Madrid looked in control after Mhabemo scored in the 30th minute and Chumben added another in the 36th. Airfield Colony responded quickly, with Yanchibemo pulling one back in the 38th minute. The equaliser came in stoppage time (70+1) to level the scoreline.

In the second match, Flamingo FC struck early through Nitova in the 5th minute, but Yon Sporting Club turned the game around. Sentisang equalised in the 7th minute and added another in the 47th, while Renpithung sealed the win in the 69th minute, giving Yon Sporting Club a 3-1 victory.
The last match of the qualifying round was played between Nitsu Yan FC and Niro Range FC (NRFC). Zuthungo opened the scoring for NRFC in the 21st minute, but Nitsu Yan FC came back strongly in the second half.
Yiben Ezung scored twice in the 48th and 63rd minutes, the latter a header from a corner. NRFC conceded an own goal in the 68th minute, and Yhoto Lohe added another in stoppage time (70+1), sealing a 4-1 win for Nitsu Yan FC.
With the group stage now complete, the first quarterfinal, knockout matches will be played on February 4 featuring Friends Club vs Tsumang FC and Nitsu Yan FC vs Flamingo FC.
