DIMAPUR — A four-day Tsükhenyie festival-cum-platinum jubilee celebration of the Pfutseromi Youth Organisation (PYO) got underway at Pfutseromi village ground under Phek district on Wednesday on the theme “Progressing with gratitude and reflection.”
Speaking at the inaugural programme, the minister of Power and Parliamentary Affairs and special guest, KG Kenye, expressed concern over many issues confronting the present society and called upon the people to come forward and be a peacemaker.
An update from PYO stated that the special unveiled the PYO platinum jubilee monolith and also dedicated the newly constructed rostrum besides releasing the PYO jubilee souvenir.
Also speaking at the event, MLA and guest of honour, Dr. Neisatuo Mero, acknowledged the PYO pioneers for their futuristic vision and also the present team for their commendable work in making the celebration a grand success.
The PYO president Kope Mero said, “Seventy five years ago, a group of passionate and visionary young individuals came together with a common purpose- to empower, uplift and inspire the youth of our community. Today, as we reflect on the remarkable journey that has unfolded since then, we are filled with profound gratitude for all those who have contributed to the success of our organisation.”
Report stated that the chairman of Pfutseromi village council, Lhiwepelo Ritse, also shared greetings.
The vote of thanks was delivered by COC co-convenor, Menyelhi Mero. The festival will culminate on April 27.
