Pughoboto town wins sub-division clean award

Kohima, Dec. 7 (EMN): Pughoboto town was conferred the annual clean award in the sub-division among 24 villages.
The award was given away during the monthly Pughoboto Sub-Division Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) meeting cum pre-Christmas celebration held on December 7. The occasion was marked with releasing of a book on growth and progress and other developmental works under 13 Pughoboto Assembly Constituency during 2013-17.
Addressing the mammoth gathering comprising representatives from different villages under the sub-division, Additional Deputy Commissioner and vice chairperson of Pughoboto SDPDB, Avelu Ruho lauded the efforts of the people of area for sincere utilisation of the developmental funds provided through the Local Area Development Programme (LADP) fund. She expressed hope that the festive season would bring joy and peace with a hope for better future for the sub-division.
Pastor of Pughoboto Town Baptist Church, Rev. Akhato Achumi delivered the Christmas message on the occasion.
The Clean Pughoboto Award was given away by Ahikali Swu, wife of MLA Vikheho Swu to the Adhoc Town Committee Pughoboto. The award carries cash award of Rs 5 lakh and citation.
Marking the celebrations, Pughoboto SDPDB also presented gifts to senior citizens and persons with special needs of Pughoboto town sponsored by local MLA Vikheho.
Vice chairman of Pughoboto Adhoc Town Committee, Viyikhu Wotsa, has extended greetings. The celebrations began with opening prayer said by pastor Pasang Sherpa of Police Baptist Church, while the scripture reading was led by Ghoshili V Wotsa, and closing prayer was said by pastor Prince Rai of Nepali Baptist Church Pughoboto.
The welcome address was delivered by SDO (C) Chonpenthung Ezung and the vote of thanks was delivered by SDC(C) Tiayanger Jamir. Special numbers were presented by Topeni Shohe, Senior Group PTBC, NCRC Pughoboto, NAP women group, junior group PTBC and Pilivi Swu.
The prpogramme was marked with screening of SVEEP campaign film “Nana.”
