Pughoboto CHC gets bio-chemistry blood analyser

Dimapur, Nov. 21 (EMN): A bio-chemistry blood analyser at community health centre (CHC) in Pughoboto under Zunheboto district was dedicated by the chief medical officer (CMO), Zunheboto, Dr. K Akaho Sema on November 20. The machine was purchased with contributions from the people of Pughoboto area initiated by Sumi Aphuyemi Hoho (SAH).

Dr. Sema, who was the guest of honour, thanked SAH for not only bringing good name to the department but also to the entire Sumi community. He also appreciated the community’s participation during this pandemic time and stated the investment would definitely bear fruits in the days to come, an update from the office of the CMO stated on Saturday.

He also stated that with installation of the machine, the people of Pughoboto can now avail services like kidney function test, liver function test, lipid profile, serum calcium, serum uric acid at reasonably low rate.

While highlighting about the current Covid-19 status of Zunheboto district and Nagaland, he stated that the next three months would be crucial in determining the Covid-19 status. In this regard, he stated that the public should sacrifice and compromise their way of living by minimising public gatherings/ meetings while continuing with washing of hands with soap and wearing face masks.

Also speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nukshisangla, DPO (RCH & UIP) expressed  gratitude  to the community for their selfless services rendered towards the department. She stated that community participation is important for any programme to be successful and further called upon all to maintain the blood analyser machine.

SAH general secretary, Ghuzhui Shohe, briefly highlighted on how the donation for purchase of the machine started. He informed that the machine was bought with generous contributions from the public under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Hokugha, SMO of Pughoboto CHC.

Ngukato K Tsuipu, president of Aphuyemi Sumi Küqhakulu Kohima, chaired the programme, while Vixepu Swu, SAH secratary, delivered the introductory note and the Bible reading and blessing of the machine was performed by Rev. Fr. Luke Nagahoto, parish priest of St. Francis of Assisi, Pughoboto.

The report further stated that medicines for distribution to various health units under Pughoboto block was handed over by Dr. Hokugha.
