Public Health Engineering Department launches “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhta” campaign.

DIMAPUR — Under the initiative of Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Nagaland, on Friday launched the “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhta” campaign during a programme held at its directorate in Kohima.
An update from the department stated that the programme was chaired by Martemsu T imchen, SDO, while the keynote address and implementation of the campaign was delivered by Gwatilo Tep, additional chief engineer and MD of WSSO PHED.
Prior to the launch of “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhta” campaign, L Layang Khiamniungan, chief engineer of PHED, spoke on the paramount importance of cleanliness by keeping oneself and dwelling place clean by referring Bible verse from the book of Deuteronomy 23:12.

The chief engineer also administered the Swachhata pledge to the participants and officially declared the launch of “Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhta” campaign.
The programme concluded with closing remarks delivered by Lhousokono Zinyü, sanitation and hygiene consultant of WSSO, PHED.
It added that a team from the directorate also reached out to Government Middle School, Phezoucha, to reaffirm the Swachhta movement by organising ‘Swachhata talks’ and imparted knowledge on the importance of water quality monitoring and water conservation.
