PUBG Corporation confirmed the return of PUBG Mobile in India via a post on both their Facebook and Instagram pages. South Korea’s KRAFTON Inc, the parent firm of PUBG Corporation, has also announced that the company is planning to invest $100 million to support the esports development in India. It also plans to open a new branch office in India and employ 100 people to help the company establish its investment plans in the country.

The company on Thursday issued the following statement, “Privacy and security of Indian player data being a top priority for PUBG Corporation, the company will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personally identifiable information to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed. Various aspects of the game will be customized for Indian gamers, such as the game now being set in a virtual simulation training ground, new characters automatically starting clothed and green hit effects to reflect the virtual nature of the game. More importantly, the company will include a feature that places restrictions on game time to promote healthy gameplay habits for younger players. Through the establishment of a branch office in India, it will employ at least 100 people specializing in game development, business, and e-sports, and it will make an investment worth $100 million in partnership with its parent company, Krafton.”

Prior to the ban two months ago, PUBG Mobile was one of the biggest mobile games in India with over 50 million active users. After cutting ties with Tencent who owned the distributing rights for PUBG Mobile in India and inking a global deal with Microsoft to move all PUBG Mobile data, PUBG Corporation seems to be on the right track to bring PUBG Mobile back to its Indian players. However, one big question still needs to be answered before Indian PUBG players get too excited about the game’s official comeback. The Indian government has still not officially clarified on whether PUBG Mobile’s return will be approved. But as things stand, things are definitely moving in the right direction for PUBG Mobile to return to India.
