PTCSU organises toppers felicitation-cum-career guidance programme
DIMAPUR — Pfutsero Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (PTCSU) has felicitated its state toppers and career guidance programme on September 30 on the theme “Explore the unexplored.”
An update from the union stated that the principal of Government Higher Secondary School, Pfutsero, and president of Pfutsero Town Schools’ Association, Vechikhoyi Lohe, was the speaker of the felicitation programme. He has expressed concern about the alarming use of mobile phones, which is one of the major distractions for students.
He challenged the students to put in more effort if they wanted to make a difference in society and stand out from the rest of the competitors. To be successful in a competitive world, he stated that one needs to work even while others sleep and rest.
In the career guidance session, Waweu Wetsah, junior engineer of PWD, Pfutsero, spoke on civil and state service exams. She encouraged the students to work hard and start early if one is to prepare for competitive exams. She added that a person with a passion for becoming a civil servant should start from high school.
Rekha Rose Dukru, entrepreneur and CPO executive member, stressed the need for improvements and learning new skills, be it soft skills or hard skills. She added that merely having a degree is not enough in this competitive world but one needs to acquire skills to stand out from other candidates.
Dr. Vepfuhu Kezo, medical officer of CHC Pfutsero, spoke on various medical and technical fields students could choose from after classes 10 and 12. He encouraged the students to love Maths and other subjects like Chemistry, Physics and Biology to be a doctor or engineer. He added that dedication, discipline and sacrifices matter most for those who want to pursue technical and medical fields.
Krishna Ramauli, entrepreneur and pastor of NBCP, encouraged the students to pursue entrepreneurship and be job providers rather than job seekers. He explained that entrepreneurs add wealth to the economy and are assets to society. He advised the students to be disciplined, honest, and work hard to become successful in life.
All the students from classes 10 and 12 in Pfutsero town attended the programme.
