Proud To Be A Teacher

Good morning to all!

Winston Churchill (1874-1965), the legendary leader of the United Kingdom, was once described as: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.”

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill was a British statesman who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945, during the Second World War, and again from 1951 to 1955.

The Nobel Prize-winning historian was an imperialist and a proponent of economic liberalism. It is widely known that he was opposed to fascist ideologies and was a key figure of the 20th century. In a profound way, he implemented social reform ideologies.

Around the globe, education is entering an era of transformation. As we know today, knowledge accumulations do not represent the core concept. Education occurs when each individual educates others. The social aspects of education highlight the development of individuals for the overall development of society.

Sometimes, students place too much importance on tests, grades, and success. ‘Qualification’ and ‘Certification’ are the two other terms students frequently confuse. Indiscriminately, the pandemic has struck the world, unifying all continents, and all countries.

The online education industry has boomed like anything in this pandemic era. Profit-making is being exploited by some companies in the face of the pandemic. As a result of this pandemic, death, starvation, hunger, hopelessness, fear, shutdown, etc. have crept into the daily lives of humans after the Second World War. Apart from all these atrocities, people are also trapped between online qualifications and certifications.

The educational sector and those who are involved with the development of new educational applications need to take note of this.

As parents, we will forget everything when it comes to the education of our children. It gives them the opportunity to fulfil their unfulfilled desires through the sacrifices they make for their children. Seeing the world through children is the way they fulfil their unfulfilled dreams. So it is the duty of educators and the people associated with them to see things through a perspective of integrity.

During this pandemic, we should also recognise the hard work, sacrifice, enthusiasm, and loyalty of every teacher. Their deep commitment to the country, and to society, is what motivates them to work well beyond normal working hours, even at a loss of 50% of their salary, sometimes without payment, etc.

Every teacher knows that they are ambassadors of learning. It is in their hands that the future of the country is secure.

Lay theologian and prolific British author C.S. Lewis (1898-1963) authored more than 30 books. In addition to that, his philosophical writings have inspired millions of people around the world.

As he puts it, doing the right thing even when no one is watching is the definition of integrity. The profound thought of the great man was: “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching.”

We should all be inspired by these words. Have a blessed day.
