Proud to Be a Teacher
Good morning to all.
“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn”
This observation of Ignacio Estrada is a revolutionary and challenging one: If we can’t teach a child according to their learning style, maybe we should teach according to their learning style. Teachers must rely on different adaptation methods each time a child enters the classroom. Every time a common formula fails, the mentor has the freedom to utilize it with each student, if permission is obtained from
There are many ways for a child to learn. It is important for mentors to consider all possible approaches. Every child is different; some are auditory, some are visual, some are kinesthetic, etc. For parents and educators, identifying and training children according to their needs and passions can be difficult. To intertwine the faculties of every child is incredibly challenging.
Gurukul model education was gradually replaced by colonial experiments: chalk and talk methods. Over the years it has been replaced by ICT and audio-visual. During this Covid and pandemic time, it has again been replaced by Zoom and Google classrooms. So chances are there, we should adopt appropriate methods as per the need of the hour.
Now after the pandemic, we should be ready to take classes in online-offline modes. Mentors, you should adopt technologies. Assimilate your skills with technology. Or you will be outdated. One should not stick to traditional teachings only. Prudent use of technology is a skill in the modern era.
Teachers must rewrite their notes with a PowerPoint presentation (PPT), animation lessons; self-made short videos (SMSV), etc.
In short, we need to be innovative, adaptive and assimilated to this new way of learning. We need to prepare ourselves to deal with any challenges that may arise in educating children. Our passion for teaching and learning will be a great asset. Let’s explore it to the fullest.
Have a blessed day.
